Detect Provenance
Drop an image to look it up in the Ma’atara Provenance index. The image is fingerprinted on your device, and only the fingerprints are sent — your image never leaves the device. Results report similarity to registered work, not proof of ownership or copying. Detect accepts images only; video, writing and audio search are not available here.
Fingerprints and available visual descriptors are sent to the search service. They can reveal matches to known content and visual similarities; do not treat them as confidential or anonymous. A missing match does not prove that a work is unregistered or free to use.
Rate Limits
Anonymous limits are per IP. The 60/min tier requires a server-verified, audience-scoped DID assertion and is counted per DID.

How Detect works
Zero-image search. The query image is decoded and fingerprinted entirely in your browser. Only the resulting fingerprints — a whole-image measurement, measurements of individual regions, and an optional descriptor that recognises the subject — cross the wire. Your original image bytes never leave the device.
Reading results. The labels describe measured visual similarity. Examine possible matches yourself; resemblance alone does not establish who created a work or whether anyone copied it.
Privacy boundary. Fingerprints and visual descriptors can be compared with known material and linked to public registrations. Local image processing does not make a search anonymous.
Search availability depends on the index and service limits. If a limit is reached, wait before retrying.
